Short frenulum of the penis

A short frenulum of the penis is an unpleasant problem that can cause pain in the penis area. During sexual intercourse, it can rupture painfully, causing bleeding, and can also be the cause of premature ejaculation. It is a congenital or acquired phenomenon, for example after scarring of a previous rupture of the frenulum.

In children, it can cause developmental disorders of the penis and glans penis.

Peyronieho’s disease (Induratio penis plastica)

PEYRONIEHO’S DISEASE or IPP (Induratio penis plastica) is a localized disease of the penis, in which an inflammatory focus of the coverings of the penile corpus callosum develops. In the early stages of the disease, it is accompanied by pain in the penis at the site of the developing plaque. The plaque (the focus of localized inflammation) gradually hardens and calcifications are deposited in it. This disease, if left untreated, can lead to penile curvature or other deformities, erectile dysfunction and often the inability to have sex.

It is important to know that the sooner treatment begins, the more successful it is, because the disease can usually be stopped and penile deformation and pain can be prevented. In case of penile pain, palpable hardness, do not hesitate to make an appointment for an examination as soon as possible, this will prevent penile deformation, pain and impotence. Advanced forms with significant penile deformities must be treated surgically.

Our office uses a combination of methods in the treatment of incipient and mild forms – ultrasound shock wave ESWT and injection treatment with substances affecting inflammation or enzymes. In the case of severe forms with significant penile deformities, surgical treatment is usually necessary.
