Problem Description
Curvature of the penis can be congenital or acquired. Congenital forms are usually mild and do not interfere with sexual intercourse. In the case of acquired curvature of the penis, it is either the result of injuries to the penis or a symptom of Peyronieho disease, rarely penile tumors. Curvature of the penis should be assessed by a doctor, the origin and accompanying signs of curvature should be determined. Treatment should be guided by whether the curvature is an obstacle to sexual intercourse, whether it is progressive or accompanied by pain.

Hardening and curvature of the penis, or Induratio penis plastica or Peyronie’s disease is a localized disease of the penis, in which an inflammatory focus of the coverings of the penile corpus callosum develops. In the early stages of the disease, it is accompanied by pain in the penis at the site of the plaque. The plaque (localized inflammation) gradually hardens and calcifications are deposited in it. This disease, if left untreated, can lead to curvature of the penis or other deformities, erectile dysfunction and often the inability to have sex.
